- selected vessel and voyage images

This information is primarily stored locally on your device for app functionality and offline access.
3. Location Information
Captain's Log may request location access so you can capture accurate coordinates for log entries, voyage records, and map-related features.
- Location is used only when required for app features you choose to use.
- Location data entered or captured in the app is stored locally on your device as part of your records.
- We do not use your location data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
If you do not want the app to access location, you can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings.
4. Photos and Images
Captain's Log may request access to your photo library so you can choose images for vessel profiles, voyage records, or related app content.
- Images are selected only when you choose to pick them.
- Selected images may be copied and stored locally on your device for offline use inside the app.
- We do not use your photos for advertising or cross-app tracking.
5. Reports, Exports, and Sharing
Captain's Log allows you to generate reports and export data, such as PDF or CSV files. When you choose to share an exported file, the file is shared only through the destination or app that you select on your device.
Please review the privacy practices of any third-party app, service, or platform you use to receive or share exported files.
6. Subscription and Purchase Information
Captain's Log may offer paid subscription features through the app store platform on your device, such as Google Play.
- Purchases are processed by the applicable app store provider, not directly by SmartServe Labs.
- The app may check subscription or entitlement status so premium access can be enabled or restored.
- Purchase-related information handled by the store is subject to that store provider's own privacy terms.
7. Firebase Remote Config
Captain's Log uses Firebase Remote Config to help manage app version policy and update-related behavior, such as minimum supported app version and store update links.
To provide this functionality, Firebase may process technical information needed to deliver configuration to the app, such as app instance or installation-related identifiers. This feature is used for app functionality only and not for advertising or cross-app tracking.
8. Online Maps and Network Requests
Captain's Log supports offline maps where available. If offline map tiles are not installed, the app may load online map tiles from third-party map providers such as OpenStreetMap.
When online map tiles are loaded, those third-party services may receive technical request information such as your IP address and device/network request data needed to deliver map content.
SmartServe Labs does not use this for advertising or cross-app tracking.
9. What We Do Not Use Your Data For
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
- We do not use collected data for cross-app or cross-website tracking.
- We do not require you to create an account to use this version of the app.
10. Data Storage and Retention
Most operational data created in Captain's Log is stored locally on your device and remains there until you:
- delete the data from within the app,
- clear the app's storage through your device settings, or
- uninstall the app.
Some third-party service providers involved in subscriptions, update configuration, or online map delivery may retain technical or transaction-related data according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
11. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to help protect information handled by the app. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
12. Children's Privacy
Captain's Log is a professional operations app and is not directed to children.
13. Your Choices
You can control app access to certain data through your device settings, including:
- location permission
- photo library permission
You can also remove locally stored app data by deleting records in the app, clearing app storage, or uninstalling the app.
14. Third-Party Services
Depending on the features you use, Captain's Log may rely on third-party services or platforms including:
- Google Play or the relevant app store for subscription processing
- Firebase Remote Config for version and update control
- OpenStreetMap or other map tile delivery sources for online maps
- device-level sharing targets chosen by you when exporting reports or files

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Captain's Log after an update means you accept the revised policy.
